The holidays are HERE!!!!

3pm ... school bell rings and the satff carpark was cleared before the kids had even left the building - that is how much we in the teaching profession regard our precious holiday time!

I know there will be comments about 13 weeks of holidays every year ... BUT ... those not in the know think we start work at 9am and finish at 3pm ... OH HOW I WISH this was the case. I am in my office most mornings before 8am and never usually leave before 6pm - except the last day of term when I disappear pretty damn quick.

2 weeks of peace and quiet - teaching has had a contraceptive effect on me ... I can hand them back at 3pm to their parents ..... but I certainly don't want to have them running about my house too .....

anyway ... I digress (again)

EASTER HOLIDAYS .... do you remember painting boiled eggs and rolling them down a grassy hill in the garden or local park??? Here's a wee funny (well, I found it funny anyway)

What kind of alcoholic drink are you??

I came across this and had to fill it in to get the results. Now, I am not the hardened drinker that others 'think' I am ... honest ... but this was a laugh and made me smile ... Oh how true .. some of it anyways!!!!

You Are A Martini

You are the kind of drinker who appreciates a nice hard drink.

And for you, only quality alcohol. You don't waste your time on the cheap stuff.

Obviously, you're usually found with a martini in your hand. But sometimes you mix it up with a gin and tonic.

And you'd never, ever consider one of those flavored martinis. They're hardly a drink!

I did complete the "What kind of flirt are you?" but I am not sharing the conclusions of that one!! pmsl - those who know me well enough will understand :o) ha ha ha

Simply the Best

I was trawling through some clips on "t'internet" and I came across this classic ...

I love this talented woman! Some mates and I had spome great laughs down the local pub one night making new lyrics to this song .... ours included a verse on Cherie and Tony Blair of all people ffs!!

Cheering Up

I decided after a few weeks of worry I was gonna cheer myself up. Well the post that fell through the letterbox kinda put that thought on hold - the dreaded letter from my GP's surgery.

After reading the contents (NO I am not waiting for the all clear from the STD clinic)I burst out laughing and wondered if the doc knew what he was letting himself in for!!

The letter wants me to go to the surgery for a medical checkup. Now I am not a regular at the docs - you know the kind, using the waiting room as their social event of the week - I hate the place.

I am the kinda guy who will not go to the docs unless I am actually dying .... and even then I hate going. I don't like all the poking and proding (ooer missus) and the last time I was there with a STOMACH complaint ... he asked me to drop my trousers!!!!!! Not sure I trust a guy who thinks my stomach is below my waist line - although on the plus side ... if he didn't know I was ticklish . he does now :o)

Anyway ... he is asking all about my family medical issues ... oh how I rolled on the floor laughing - I made a list hee hee ... I hope he is ready and willing to clear his appointments to check all 24 items that have made it onto my list ... my dad has a lot to answer for ...

BUT ... who knows .. I may be willing to drop my trousers and boxys if there is a lovely looking doc replacing my old and wrinkly .... I'll keep you posted :o)

I am Back!!

Hi all ... I say "all" but how do I know if anyone is actually reading this drivel??? Well ... here goes anyway......

It has been a while since my last post but I have been concentrating my energies on my dad who has been in hospital. It was all looking a bit didgy for a while - after his operation he has to go for a second because of complications and then the poor guy was rushed to intensive care and put on a ventilator after breathing difficulties and a heart rate of 174.

The fantastic nurses, doctors, consultants and surgeons have done an amazing job and my dad is now on a ward and recovering well - no machines attached and looking forward to getting out and home soon! I just don't know if my mum is looking forward to having him back ha ha ha - she has full control of the television and the car at the moment :o)

I found this wee cartoon .... thank goodness this wasn't the case ------>>>>>

I think my dad would have suffered rather than have some dodgy character giving mouth to mouth ha ha ha.

UP's 'n' Downs

The week started with me having a stinking cold and feeling like sh*t but I was lifted up when I had news of my cousins new arrival - a baby daughter - Kadie ... a little sister for my Godson Josh and his brother Jack.

Then middle of the week as my cold was gradually getting worse I had a call from my mum to say dad was getting taken into hospital with severe stomach pains. The poor guy has only just retired and has spent all of last summer in hospital after docs found a DVT - thankfully before he was about to fly on holiday, 3 days later!!! Now .. a perforated bowel ... laid up in hospital again!

I cannot believe what they are "cutting" away from his insides .... and they are checking for cancer also OMG!!

The op went well last night, apart from lasting for double the time we were advised initially from the surgeons, and he is now in the High Dependency Unit recovering. Here's hoping that it is a speedy recovery and he is back to his usual grumpy self soon :o) - love ya!!

Here's for a better week .............
